KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management has reduced the fares of public transport plying the inter-state routes.

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 20 and diesel by Rs 29 on Saturday.

Petrol prices have been reduced from Rs 199 to Rs 179, and diesel kerosene prices have been reduced by Rs 29. Diesel-kerosene prices have been reduced from Rs 192 to Rs 163.

Passenger fares have been reduced by 5.41 percent, while cargo vehicles (heavy loaded) operating on hilly roads have been reduced by 6.97 percent, according to the Department of Transport Management.

Similarly, cargo vehicles fares on the Terai road have been reduced by 7.68 percent.
