KATHMANDU: As oil prices fall, so will public transportation fares. The government has reduced the price of petroleum beginning today, and public transportation fares will also be reduced.

The new fare will be announced today by the Department of Transportation. Namaraj Ghimire, Director-General of the Department, stated that the new fare for vehicles operating in Antar Pradesh will be made public following the opening of the office.

Petrol has been reduced by Rs 20 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have been reduced by Rs 29 per liter.

Previously, the department raised vehicle fares on June 20 in response to sharp increases in the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene in the first week of Ashar (June/July).
