KATHMANDU: After competing in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, the Nepali national football team has returned home.

On Thursday, the Nepali team arrived in Nepal. Officials from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) greeted the Nepali team. Despite the return of the Nepali team’s 31 members, head coach Abdullah Almutairi remains in Kuwait.

Abdullah Al Mutairi is still in Kuwait after leaving ANFA. Captain Pujan Uparkoti stated upon his return to Nepal that the new players performed admirably. He stated that the outcome was not as expected when the players who were previously on the team did not rejoin the team.

Nepal had no points in the Kuwait selection. Nepal was placed at the bottom of Group A. Nepal was defeated 2-0 by Jordan in the first match of the selection.

Nepal was defeated 4-1 by Kuwait in the second match. Nepal was defeated 7-0 by Indonesia in the previous match.
