DHANGADHI: MAY. 20 – Votes count is currently underway in Kailali district’s Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitian. So far, 42,230 votes have been counted, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Gopal Hamal, an independent mayoral candidate, obtained 19,147 votes out of the total votes cast. Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Nrip Bahadur Oad polled 9,557 votes, while CPN-UML candidate Ran Bahadur Chand secured 4,664 votes.

Similarly, Maoist Central Shanti Adhikari got 8,815 votes for mayor, UML’s Kandakala Rana polled 8,141 votes, and independent candidate Prabhakar Bhandari obtained5,036 votes.

In Dhangadhi, 63 thousand 715 votes were cast in the local level election.
