POKHARA: MAY. 19 – The Nepal Army’s Bailey Bridge in Machikhola, Gorkha, has come into operation. The bridge, which cost Rs 20 million to build, was inaugurated by Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma.

The construction of the 120-feet-long bridge has made it easier for locals and vehicles to cross the river.

Vehicles could previously only reach Machikhola, but now they can also reach Khorlabeshi after the construction of this bridge. The army is working on a contract to build the Benighat and Arughat Larke roads.

The army, in charge of construction since 2074 BS, has so far opened 32 kilometers of road track. Major Binod Bhatta, the task force’s commander, reported that vehicles have begun operating on the 18-kilometer stretch up to Dobhan.
