KATHMANDU: MAY. 17 – The main opposition party, the CPN-UML, did not attend the meeting of the HoR’s Business Advisory Committee.

The UML was not present at the meeting convened by the Speaker at Parliament House, New Baneshwor, to determine the schedule of the Parliament’s budget session.

Prior to this, the UML had boycotted a meeting of the parliament’s working committee. Since 2078, Bhadra 23 (September 8, 2021), the UML has been obstructing parliament’s sitting.

UML has been obstructing parliament by demanding that Speaker Sapkota resign as he was involved in the party’s split.

It remains to be seen how the UML will proceed in the post-local elections scenario.
