Coalition wins in UML stronghold Miklajung

BIRATNAGAR: MAY. 17 – An alliance has been elected in the Miklajung Rural Municipality of Morang district. With 8253 votes, Bavi Kumar Rai of the Nepali Congress was elected. His closest rival, CPN-Narendra UML’s Prasad Dhungel, got 4916 votes.

Even in the vice-chairperson coalition was elected. Dinesh Poudel of the CPN-Maoist Center was elected as the coalition’s leader. He got 5626 votes, while Nirmala Rai of the UML got 5455 votes. The CPN (UML) was elected in this municipality in the 2074 election.

Parbat Rai of the Nepali Congress got 921 votes in Ward No. 1, Bal Bahadur Shrestha of the Nepali Congress received 606 votes in Ward No. 2, and Santosh Kumar Magar of the CPN-UML got 898 votes in Ward No. 3. Similarly, Bishal Rai of the Nepali Congress got 908 votes in Ward 4.

The CPN-Maoist got 381 votes in Ward 5. Khadi Bahadur Magar was elected in Ward No. 6 with 1122 votes. Sushil Raj Chauhan got 871 votes in Ward 7, while Purna Bahadur Kuwar of the CPN-Maoist got 800 votes in Ward 8.

The Nepali Congress also won Ward 9. In the 2074 BS election, UML had won every ward except two.
