Former Australian all-rounder Symonds dies in crash

KATHMANDU: MAY. 15 – Andrew Symonds, a former Australian all-rounder and veteran cricketer, was killed in an accident. On Saturday night, he was killed in a car accident in Queensland, Australia.

According to Queensland police, a speeding car overturned on the road near Hervey Range, about 50 kilometers west of city. Andrew Symonds, 46, was driving the car. The incident is being investigated by police.

From 1998 to 2009, Symonds appeared in 198 One-Day Internationals and 26 Tests for Australia. During this time, he won two World Cups.

The head of Australian cricket, Lachlan Henderson, said his untimely death had taken a heavy toll on the game. Shane Warne, the great Australian cricketer, died just last month.
