KATHMANDU: MAY. 13 – Satya Mohan Joshi, who is celebrating his 103rd birthday today, will refrain from voting in today’s local level election owing to his ailing health.

The resident of Patan, Lalitpur district who needs oxygen support time to time, according to his second eldest son Hemanta Joshi, faced difficulty in reaching polling station due to his bad health.

The centenarian cultural expert’s health has been frail following the infection of pneumonia last winter. Joshi has been suffering respiratory-related problems for some days, shared Hemanta, adding that given the bad health condition of his father, he could not take him to the polling station.

Meanwhile, Joshi, who turned 103 year old today, will be observing his birthday within the family members, according to Hemanta.

He said that a limited number of family members will gather to celebrate Joshi’s birthday as today was local election and there was problem in movement of vehicles due to enforcement of Election Code of Conduct.
