Chaite Dashain being celebrated today

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 9 – Today is Chait Shukla Ashtami, the Hindu festival of Chaite Dashain. The goddess is being worshiped and adored.

Hindus celebrate Dashain twice a year as the victory of divine power over demonic power and the victory of truth over untruth. The tenth celebrated in September is known as Vadadshain and the tenth celebrated in Chait is known as Chaite Dashain.

According to the old saying, earlier the main Dashain used to fall on Chait. However, it is believed that Dashain has been shifted to the middle of the year due to drought and drought, change of weather, and many people getting sick from eating and walking.

It is not celebrated with pomp and circumstance like Bada Dashain. In Chait, Hindus celebrate the day of Ashtami as Dashain.
