Swing accident at Festival: 14 injured, three in critical condition

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 26 – Fourteen people were injured in a boat swing (Columbus) accident at the Kapilvastu Festival. According to police, three people were seriously injured in the accident on Friday evening.

According to Dan Bahadur Karki, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kapilvastu, the boat swing accident occurred at the Banganga Jitpur festival. He stated that those seriously injured in the accident were taken to Butwal for treatment.

The injured have been identified as Arjun Chhetri of Banganga Municipality Ward No. 1, Sirjana Tharu and Aakriti Khanal of Kapilvastu Municipality-9.

Manisha Chhetri of Shitganga Municipality-2, Aashika BC of Banganga Municipality Ward No. 4, Jonal Pun, Bam Bahadur Chhetri, Seema Khatri of Ward No. 8, Mahima Chaudhary, Sirjana Sunar, and Krishna Gharti Magar of Ward No. 9 have been identified as the minor injured.

According to police, four of the injured have returned home following normal treatment, while seven are still being treated at Kapilvastu.
