NEPSE fell by 39 points, significant decline in transaction amount

KATHMANDU: JAN. 19 – The stock market dropped sharply on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week. The index, which reached a high of 2949 points shortly after the start of trading, fell by 38.35 points to close at 2898.31 points before the market closed amid sharp fluctuations. The Sensitive Index fell 7.81 points as well.

On this day, the transaction amount has also decreased significantly. Previously, the market had fallen by 10 points on Tuesday, with a turnover of more than Rs 8 billion. On Wednesday, however, 1,18,37,215 shares were traded for Rs. 6,213,111,881.

Of the companies traded on the day, only 20 gained. The remaining 165 companies’ share prices have declined. Six companies’ share prices have stayed constant.

On this day, the share price of Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower and Samling Hydropower Company has increased by more than 9%. Ghalemdi Hydro Power Company, Kalika Microfinance Institution, and other companies share prices have dropped the most.
