Probe committee formed to investigate aircraft door unlock

KATHMANDU: JAN. 18 – A committee has been formed to investigate the incident involving the opening of the door of a Guna Airlines 1900 C-Beechcraft aircraft that flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, an inquiry committee has been formed, coordinated by Senior Aviation Safety Inspector Dadhiram Niraula of the Civil Aviation Authority.

The committee consists of Naseeb Acharya, Electronic Engineer of the Ministry, Sabitri Shrestha, Cabin Crew Inspector of NEA and Ritesh Raj Panta, Aeronautical Engineer.

The investigation committee has been given three days to find out exactly what happened.

During the flight, last Sunday, the cockpit of the plane indicated that the Guna Airlines plane’s door was not locked. The plane landed after air traffic instructed it to land immediately.
