Meeting of High Level Political Coordination Committee continues

KATHMANDU: JAN. 18 – The meeting of the ruling coalition’s high-level political coordination committee is currently underway. The meeting began some time ago at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The Political Coordination Committee will convene today following a meeting on Monday between Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the president of the ruling Nepali Congress, and CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

It is understood that the meeting is discussing the strategy for the election of National Assembly members to be held on Jan 26, local level election date announcement, COVID-19 control and other current issues.

Krishna Prasad Sitaula from the Congress, Prachanda and Narayan Kaji Shrestha from the UCPN (Maoist), Madhav Kumar Nepal from the UCPN (Maoist) and Upendra Yadav from the Janata Samajwadi Party are members of the political coordination committee formed under the coordination of senior Congress leader Poudel.

Rastriya Janamorcha chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC and Durga Poudel are also members of the committee.
