Lumbini got its first victory by defeating State two

KATHMANDU: JAN. 13 – Lumbini State beat State 2 by 42 runs in the Prime Minister’s Cup T20 cricket tournament to win its first victory in the tournament. Lumbini set a target of 162 after Dev Khanal’s 54-run half-century on Thursday at the TU ground in Kirtipur. The State 2 was bowled out for 219 runs in reply.

Lumbini, who won the toss and elected to bat first, lost eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 161 runs. Dev Khanal scored 54 off 38 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes while Bashir Ahmed scored 30 runs.

Similarly, Sandeep Rajali scored 30 runs. Opener Saurabh Khanal scored 10 runs. No other player was able to score a double run. In the latter order, the wicket fell continuously.

For him, Rupesh Singh and Bivek Yadav took 2-2 wickets. Harishankar Shah, Mehboob Alam, and Bishal Susling also took 1-1 wickets.

In reply, Bivek Yadav added an unbeaten 36 runs for the State 2. Santosh Karki and Harikrishna Jha scored 14-14 for the State 2 while Mohammad Adil Alam and Rupesh Singh scored 13-13. Anil Karki took 5 wickets while Krishna Karki, Siddhanta Lohani and Bashir Ahmed took 1-1 wickets each.
