Identities of seven people died in Palpa bus accident

PALPA: JAN. 3 – Seven people were killed in a bus accident at Ribdikot-2, Laghuwa in Palpa district on Sunday morning. Sixteen people have been injured in the accident.

According to the District Police Office, Palpa, seven persons were killed in a bus accident on Sunday morning. All the seven deceased have been identified.

The deceased have been identified as Pashupati Rasaili, 27, of Butwal-17, Khum Bahadur Rana, 40, of Butwal-17, Bijay Thapa Chhetri, 32, of Butwal-11 and Bhajendra BK, 28, of Malarani-2, Arghakhanchi district. Similarly, Shankar BK, 26, of Arghakhanchi Malarani-2, Mohan Kunwar of Malarani Rural Municipality-2 and Arjun BK, 33, of Arghakhanchi Malarani-2 have been identified, said Rameshwor Twati, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Palpa.

The injured have been identified as Bishal Rasaili, 38, of Butwal-17, Lal Bahadur BK, 43, of Arghakhanchi Kubinde, Ghan Bahadur Sunar, 45, of Butwal-17, Shyam Bahadur BK, 50, of Sainamaina-6 and Ramesh Tomata, 37, of Arghakhanchi Malarani-2.

Similarly, Gopal Nepali, 54, of Dandakteri-1, Arghakhanchi, and Mira Ramdhan, 29, of Sainamaina-6, Rupandehi have been injured. Similarly, 48-year-old Madhav Basyal of Buwatal, 22-year-old Deepak BK of Malarani Arghakhanchi and Tulsi BK are also missing. The condition of one of the injured is critical, police said.

Nine of the injured are undergoing treatment at Lumbini Medical College, while six others are undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital, police said. The injured were rescued by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals.

The injured have stated that the bus carrying the dead body of 67-year-old Bir Bahadur of Butwal-17 was heading towards Ridi.

According to the police, the accident took place due to a lack of brakes on a slippery road. The driver Rukmagat Basyal of Rambha Rural Municipality-1, Palpa, who was absconding after the accident, is under the control of the police, said Santosh Bhattarai, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Palpa.
