India’s COVID-19 tally rises to 34,746,838

NEW DELHI: DEC. 20 – India’s COVID-19 tally on Monday morning rose to 34,746,838 as 6,563 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, the federal health ministry said.

According to the ministry’s latest data, 132 related deaths due to the pandemic were reported during the period, taking the death toll to 477,554 so far.

Currently, there are 82,267 active cases in the country, which, according to the ministry, is the lowest in 572 days.

So far 34,187,017 people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, with 8,077 new recoveries.

The ministry said the recovery rate currently stands at 98.39 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.
