CDS Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash, will be cremated tomorrow

NEW DELHI: DEC. 9 – Indian Army Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and former Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, will be cremated on Friday. The Indian Air Force has given the information by tweeting.

His body is being brought to Delhi today. An Indian Air Force MI-17V5 helicopter carrying Rawat crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Thirteen people, including his wife, were killed in the crash. There were 14 people on the helicopter. One seriously injured in the crash is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The army has stated that an investigation has been ordered to find out the cause of the crash. Former Indian Army chief Rawat became India’s first Chief of Defense Staff in January 2020. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address the parliament on Thursday.
