Sudurpashchim victory over Karnali

KATHMANDU: NOV. 28 – Sudurpashchim (Far-Western) has won its first match in the ongoing U-19 National ODI Cricket Tournament in Kathmandu. Sudurpashchim defeated Karnali by 10 wickets in their third match. Karnali, on the other hand, suffered its third defeat in the fourth match.

In the ongoing tournament, Karnali had defeated Lumbini by 140 runs in the first match. Since then, Karnali has been consistently defeated. In their second match, Karnali lost by 76 runs to the number one state. Similarly, Karnali lost to Gandaki by 3 wickets in the third match on Saturday.

Karnali, who batted first after losing the toss at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Sunday, was all out in 16.5 overs and added only 66 runs. In reply, Sudurpashchim managed to reach the target in 12.1 overs without losing a wicket.

Captain Khadak Bohora and Naresh Bhatta shared an unbeaten partnership in the victory of Sudurpashchim. While Bohora remained unbeaten on 41 off 42 balls, Bhatta supported him with 16 off 31 balls.

Before that, Prakash Jaishi’s 15 runs was the highest for Karnali. Similarly, Ramesh Budha and Rupak Dahal scored 12 and 11 runs respectively. Four of Karnali’s batsmen could not open the account.

Aakash Chand, Narayan Joshi and Sher Malla of Sudurpashchim took 3-3 wickets apiece. One wicket went to Narendra Saud.
