Jeep accident in Gulmi: 3 killed, 6 injured

KATHMANDU: OCT. 15 – Three people have died in a jeep accident at Pancharate in Resunga Municipality-10 of Gulmi district. The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4490) carrying passengers from Butwal to Tamghas to celebrate Dashain met with an accident at around 11 last night.

The deceased have been identified as Bahadur Thapa, 72, of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2, Radhika Thapa, 45, of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2 and Sangita Sunar, 19, of Chudarigaun in Musikot Municipality-3, said Chief Superintendent of Police Gopal Chandra Bhattarai. According to him, six people have been injured in the accident. The condition of three of them is critical.

Sumitra Sunar, 47, of Chudarigaun in Musikot Municipality-3, Juna Thapa, 38, of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2 and Radha KC, 50, of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan Municipality were seriously injured in the accident. Bhattarai said that various parts of their body and head were injured.

Similarly, Khima Thapa, 43, of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2, Kamal Thapa, 26, driver of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2 and Raju Thapa, 36, of Jaljale in Musikot Municipality-2 sustained minor injuries. The injured are undergoing treatment at Gulmi Hospital and various hospitals in Palpa, police said. The jeep has fallen about 500 meters from the road.
