KATHMANDU: OCT. 7 – Horror movie Kathputli (The Puppet) has won the award at the prestigious American International Film Festival ‘Winter Film Awards’. The film won the ‘Best Horror Feature Film’ and ‘Indie Picks’ awards at the festival, which ran from September 23 to October 2.

The film was shortlisted for the Winter Fear Award Horror Film Competition at the festival.

The film, which won the Indie Picks Award for Best Horror, is based on the US OTT platform. To win this award is to be offered a release by the prestigious OTT platform called ‘Indie Picks’. Only four films won the award at the festival. At the Winter Film Festival, the film competed with Hollywood films in the horror genre.

The film is produced by Prithvi Rana Magar and directed by Veemsen Lama. The film has a story, script and dialogues by Sampada Malla and stars Gauri Malla, Mithila Sharma, Karma, Shilpa Maskey, Usha Rajak and Suvarna Thapa.
