KATHMANDU: SEPT. 5 – A writ petition filed in the Supreme Court demanding postponement of the 14th Nepali Congress General Convention in Kathmandu will be heard only on Monday. A writ petition was heard in the bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. The writ petitioner Baidya informed that the writ petition will be heard only tomorrow.

Baidya had filed a writ petition on September 2, arguing that the general convention should not be held due to the coronavirus and that the validity of the Congress would remain valid till June 13, 2022 (Jestha 30, 2079)

Baidya insists that the general convention should be held in a grand and civil manner after the removal of coronavirus. Baidya has said, “Let the Congress General Convention not spread the coronavirus. After the coronavirus has been managed, all Nepalis have been vaccinated and let’s hold the Nepali Congress General Convention with grandeur, so we have gone to complain to postpone the General Convention till then.”
