Two journalists honored on CJN’s founding day

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 5 – The 11th foundation day of the Nepal Cooperative Journalists Society (CJN) has been completed. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that construction work can be done in collaboration with cooperatives and media.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that the distortions and anomalies in the cooperative sector should be ended and emphasis should be laid on the promotion of cooperatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Daksha Poudel, Co-Chairman of the National Cooperative Development Board, said that research-oriented news should be disseminated after conducting research on the cooperative sector. He said that the cooperatives should focus on improving the living standards of the members.

“Cooperatives should focus on production to be established according to the three pillars of the economy,” he said. He said that emphasis should be laid on fact and fact news communication.

Chairman of the Nepal Savings and Credit Central Cooperative Union (NEFSCUN) Paritosh Poudyal said that the development of the cooperative sector would be helped if the pen could be used in a fair manner. He said that the media should give space to the cooperative sector as it would make a significant contribution to economic development.

Chief Executive Officer of National Cooperative Bank Badri Kumar Guragain said that the cooperative would get a chance to be corrected with the help of the media. “All kinds of news about cooperatives help in the promotion of cooperatives,” he said. “Cooperatives should focus on informative news coverage.”

Founder Chairman Yadav Humagain and Outgoing Chairman Dilli Prasad Sapkota expressed their best wishes at the program chaired by Chairman of Nepal Cooperative Journalists Society Khilanath Dahal. Vice President Kaji Shrestha welcomed the participants at the program conducted by Secretary Tulsi Subedi.

Journalism Award to Kunwar

Kaushila Kunwar, a journalist of Rajdhani Daily, has been awarded the CJN National Journalism Award on the occasion of the 11th foundation day of the Nepal Cooperative Journalists Society. Kunwar, a member of CJN, has been awarded for his creative writing in the cooperative sector. Similarly, Founder Treasurer Sita Pokharel was honoured with the CJN Founder Award.
