BANEPA: AUGUST 10 – The Namobuddha Municipality of Kavrepalanchok has presented an example of how the local government should be responsible towards the senior citizens. At present, the municipality has vaccinated the senior citizens against coronavirus from door to door.

Amantinath Humagain, 102, of Namobuddha-8, said after receiving the second dose of Covishield at his residence on Monday, “I am happy. Thank you to the municipality. ‘A team of health workers from the municipality reached his house and vaccinated him. On the occasion, Mayor Tanka Prasad Timalsina handed over the vaccination card to him and informed that arrangements have been made to vaccinate the citizens between the ages of 65 and 102 at home.

Mayor Timalsina is engrossed in the campaign of vaccinating senior citizens at their homes with health workers. The municipality had started the first phase of the vaccination campaign from March 7 to 13. It is said that there are 1,707 citizens above 65 years of age in the municipality.

Vaccination centers have been identified in all 11 wards of the city. “We are campaigning so that no citizen is deprived of vaccination,” he said. The municipality has distributed masks, sanitizers and chyavanprash along with vaccines to the senior citizens.
