KATHMANDU: AUGUST 3 – A no-confidence motion has been filed against Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel. Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, JSP and Rastriya Janamorcha MPs have filed a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Pokharel at the State Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday.

Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress in the state assembly, Fakruddin Khan, said that a no-confidence motion was filed against the government in the Parliament Secretariat on behalf of the opposition alliance.

In a letter provided by the Leader of the Opposition, a no-confidence motion has been prepared with the signatures of 34 members of the State Assembly proposing Kul Prasad KC as the new Chief Minister.

Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections. Chief Whip Khan informed that preparations are being made to file a petition demanding to convene a special session of the state assembly before the state chief.
