Eight Hundred Thousand Doses of Vero Cell Arrived

KATHMANDU: JULY 22 – An additional 800,000 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 have arrived in Nepal. A Nepal Airlines flight arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday carrying a Vero Cell vaccine manufactured by the government-purchased Sinofarm Company from China.

A Nepal Airlines flight bound for Beijing on Wednesday landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2 pm on Thursday.

The airline’s plane is leaving Beijing tonight at 11 pm for the remaining vaccine. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2.5 million doses of vaccine will be imported from China in the next three days.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi said that an additional 1.6 million vaccines had been donated.
