Vaccines available from Covax to Namibia

WINDHOEK: SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2021 – The African nation of Namibia on Friday received a vaccine against Covid-19, which was made available through COVAX. In the first phase, 24,000 doses have been given to Namibia through the World Health Organization-led COVAX.

Namibia’s Health and Social Services Minister Kalumbi Shangula said the AstraZeneca vaccine would be sent to different parts of the country. Three thousand 587 people have been vaccinated in Namibia so far. Namibia, with a population of about 2.5 million, plans to vaccinate at least 60 percent of its population.
