Agreement between the government and the World Bank to spend Rs 5.5 arab to reduce carbon emissions

Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal and the World Bank’s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility have agreed to spend $4 Crore (Rs. 5 arab 40 crore) to reduce carbon emissions and deforestation from Nepal.

An agreement has been reached to spend the amount by 2025 for the work. After spending that amount, that is, Nepal is expected to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by about 90 lakh tons in the same period.

Secretary of the Ministry of Forest and Environment Dr. Bishwanath Oli and Faris Hadad Zervos, Country Director for the World Bank for Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

According to Shishir Kumar Dhungana, Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, this is the first time that Nepal has taken this assistance to reduce carbon emissions.
